Mama's Kitchen

Remember back when we introduced solids to Landon and we talked about Mommy making Landon's food? Mission accomplished! Mommy found a really cool website, wholesomebabyfood.com, which has tons of info from baby food recipes and storage to meal plans and more! And after some research about organic vs not, we went organic. So this morning after walking, we went to the store and bought some veggies then came home and Mommy had a project afternoon.
Before...
During...
And the baby food... This is the acorn squash.
After this stage, Mommy scooped the baby food into ice trays, each cube makes an individual meal, and into the freezer they go. After they are frozen we will put them into freezer bags and they will last up to 8 months!

Also, we did a Cost Benefit Analysis:
The total for the organic veggies was $8.49, this made about 70 meals, which is about 12 cents per meal.
To buy Organic Gerber baby food it costs about 31 cents per meal.
Landon has a few more weeks of veggies, then at 6 months he will get fruits!
