A LONG Week

Sorry about being MIA, but our family has had a long week. A long story short, after having planned for Mommy and Landon to fly over to Seattle to see GiGi and Gpa, the trip was cancelled and we ended up in the Urgent Care of Landon's doctor when he woke up from his morning nap on Monday with a 105 temperature. After a myriad of tests, that weren't fun for Landon or Mommy, we found out that Landon has pneumonia. It is a mild case but still enough to send his poor little body into such high temperatures. He is on antibiotics and is doing a lot better now. We have had temperature readings in the "normal" range for the past 18 hours which is great. And thankfully it has stayed pretty cool the past few days, not going over 80 degrees. To say the least, we haven't been getting great sleep, having to wake up every 3 hours to make sure Landon's temp hasn't spiked in the middle of the night. But he is doing better now; though still a little fussy, but who wouldn't be with side effects from the antibiotics and not getting great sleeps? We'll keep you posted on how the little man is doing.
A secondary question: How did Landon get pneumonia?
Two leading causes for little kids and baby's who get pneumonia are 1) being exposed to second hand smoke and 2) attending daycare. Since Landon wasn't exposed to either there is a third cause, which is most likely how Landon got pneumonia, which is during the course of any normal cough or cold. During the course of colds there is mucus that is secreted into the lungs, which happen to be great "breeding grounds" for bacteria or a virus setting in and infecting those pockets of mucus, which then creates the pneumonia. Landon has been teething which has created a lot of mucus and coughing, he contracted either a virus or bacteria that lead to pneumonia.

poor kid :(
It's funny to read your writing, because I can totally "hear" your voice telling me the story as I read.
I hope he's better soon, and you all can get some rest!
