Saturday Morning Cute

Since it is so hot here already Landon is just hanging out in his basketball shorts like Daddy, which the colors even match too cute, in front of the fan...
Just a little update, Landon's cough is almost completely gone!! It wasn't asthma, which was a huge relief for Mommy and Daddy. Mommy usually has her cleaning day on Thursday, that is still from the retail schedule, but the past couple weeks we have been vacuuming and dusting 2-3 times a week and that has seemed to help with the cough too. So, we are thinking that maybe the kitty hair/dander has something to do with the cough. At any rate, it is clearing up so that is great.
Landon also pushed through a fourth tooth, it's on top, and he is also working on his two central front teeth. We can feel them right there, so it will be soon.
We are also getting closer to crawling, well going forward that is. He is able to move backwards and get to where he wants to be, he also uses rolling as a method of movement. This week he has really gotten into wanting to be standing while holding your fingers and learning to walk!! Mommy and Daddy were both 9 month walkers so we'll see if that carries on! Landon has also been pulling him self up to standing more this past week. Here he is on the crib, his favorite place to do that...

Mommy's 9 months on 9 months off: Update

OK, I know that I haven't been the best at posting on this subject BUT I am still on track!!! Yeah!! I have one more month and 5 more pounds that I want to shed. I have been doing really well with walking in the mornings with my friend Lindsay, she is getting married next May and has a goal too, so we are great allies for each other with the walking. I have also been doing this crazy video, and when I say crazy I mean CrAzY (Jim won't even let me demonstrate it! I know!), anyway she uses breathing and stretching exercises combined to burn fat and lose inches...it really works! I lost 2.5 inches last week!! Anyway, I will let you know how this last month goes!
Have a great weekend...
It's already 79 here so we will be going to the pool as soon as Landon wakes up from his nap!

Happy Memorial Day

This weekend we went up to our friend's, Bryan and Emily, in St. Maries Idaho. They have a beautiful lot of 12 acres that backs right up to state land so there are miles and miles of trials and hiking. We had tons of fun hiking around, making smores over the bonfire, and just hanging out. On Saturday we went down to the River, the St. Joe, and we had Bryan's and Uncle Dave's bass boats and all piled on to them. Daddy went with Bryan and their puppy Gage and on Uncle Dave's boat we had Auntie Alicia, Mommy, Emily, Landon, and Dodger (Alicia and Dave's puppy) so to say the least we had a full house. But Daddy had the camera on the other boat so we got some cute pictures of Landon's first boating trip but they are on Emily's camera so we will have to wait to get those to post them. But Landon did touch his first fish, which was really funny, and Dodger liked when it was snack time for Landon and we got out the Cheerios! These are just a couple other pics that were cute of the little boy in his
camping sweats...
Hope that you enjoyed the weekend!

Swimming Lessons

We finally have some video of swimming lessons. Grandma Mary and Mommy were playing phone tag so Mommy didn't have the camera but Grandma got some video on her cell phone. This one is of Mommy dunking Landon under the water. We did a few times but the video clips aren't able to take that long of a video so you only get to see it twice...

In this one Landon is on the noodle, we do this so they can practice kicking their feet. You can see Landon's feet kicking away!

This last one is of a song we sing called Popcorn Man, instead of Muffin Man, and every time we say POP we pop Landon into the air and let him splash into the water.

Priest Lake Weekend

This past weekend we ventured to Priest Lake for a friend's wedding. It was absolutely beautiful, the wedding and the weather! We went up early on Saturday so we could get all settled in and hike around before the ceremony.
There were a few trails that lead right out of where our cabin was. We went on one that took us down by the lake and then up into some pretty wooded areas. Down by the lake with the self timer, Landon is in a Kelty Kids Pack, Daddy wore it all afternoon and said that it was awesome! Here we go...

Later at the ceremony...
Landon gives wedding crasher a new meaning!
Then on Sunday we went Morel mushroom hunting! At first we were in the totally wrong area for finding them but we hiked around a place called Hannah Flats and Mommy took macro shots of some things that we saw. We hiked a couple other places and then we found mushroom haven! We picked about 27 mushrooms and after we got home we cleaned them and sauteed them!
Here are some other random pictures from the weekend!
Oh and on another note, Landon's snot is turning back to clear and the nebulizer has only worked a little for his congestion to we are most likely ruling out asthma, but we will talk to the doctor on Thursday.

Sick Boy

Little Landon has been fighting a cough for almost 5 weeks now...what is going on?! At first we thought that it was teething with the runny nose and drooling and cough. It didn't go away. So, we took him to the doctor last Thursday to have him checked out just to make sure that it wasn't more major than a lasting cough or cold. The doc listened to his lungs, checked his nose, ears and throat; everything looked and sounded good. He told us to keep and eye on the snot and cough and if either get worse to come back. Over the weekend, his runny nose went from clear to yellow in the matter of one night and his cough turned into a hack. It got worse. And of course it was our travel weekend. When we got home we scheduled another appointment and back to the doctor we went, that was yesterday. Well, since both Mommy and Daddy have allergies, Landon has a 66% chance of getting them too. Also, to go along with that fact the doctor informed us that he not only has a chance of getting allergies but he could also develop eczema or asthma, all three being atopical conditions or "skin" conditions. Children under 2 don't develop "seasonal allergies", so that option is out. Landon did have a tiny spot of eczema but now that it is warmer that has gone away. The doctor wanted to make sure that it isn't asthma so he prescribed a nebulizer for us to use on Landon for a week to see if it completely clears up the cough. Not all kids wheeze due to asthma, it can also cause a cough. Even if isn't asthma, the nebulizer will help him with his stuffiness. So either way, it will help. We started it last night. So far, it has helped with the stuffiness but the cough is still a hack. We have a check-up for the nebulizer next week so we will let you know the prognosis.
This was Landon with the nebulizer this morning...
"It's just a cough mom, but I like this thing!"

Mother's Day Weekend

We had a great weekend in Seattle...Mommy's first official Mother's Day!! Landon wasn't feeling his greatest on Saturday, we are battling it out with a little cold combined with three new teeth coming in on top (believe us, it's not a fun combo). G'Pa, Mommy and Daddy went skiing while Landon stayed home with GiGi, which was perfect for everyone. Mommy even popped right out of the water after not having skied for almost 2 years! But then on Sunday, Landon perked up, after a good night sleep, for church and decided he wanted all eyes on him and was determined to give the sermon in baby coos and da-das. It was hard for Mommy and GiGi not to laugh!! After church and visiting in the narthex, we had a wonderful brunch at home and then got on the road.
Family picture after church.
More pictures from the weekend...
It was a perfect Mother's Day weekend!

Happy Friday!

We are getting ready to head over to Seattle for the weekend to Visit GiGi and G'Pa for Mother's Day! This past week was a fun one... We wrapped up the last of this sessions swim lessons and while we were in the pool Landon was doing his "mmmmm" "mmmmm" and guess what came out?! "Ma-Ma"!!! We won't call it official because we are still working on getting it out consistently, but it was great to hear. The more tummy time Landon has the closer he is getting to be up and on the move. He can turn on his tummy by using his arms and he gets closer and closer every day to being able to get him self into crawl position from laying on the ground. When he sits, if there is something that he wants that is out of his reach he leans to one side and goes over to his tummy to get it. He can move either his legs or his arms in the crawl position but then falls to his tummy because he is to stretched out. All he has to do now is figure out that he can move his legs and arms at the same time in crawl position and he will be on the go!
Here is a couple cute pics from last week of Landon and Gus. Gus is Grandma Mary's yellow lab and Landon LOVES him!
Happy Mother's Day and enjoy your weekend!

7 Months

Holy cow! Where does the time go?! We can't even believe that seven months have already passed. Landon is getting better at the crawling position and is really rocking back and forth on his hand and knees. He is going to be off in a jiff! Mommy was getting ready today and apparently it was too long for Landon...
